Art Appreciation Lectures

Michael Farrell Lecture Series

Michael Farrell has been a professor of art history and founder of the Honors Art History Program at the University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada, for the past thirty years. He is also a lecturer for Central Michigan University and, in the past, has served as adjunct education curator at the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Detroit Historical Museum. Professor Farrell believes that there is a profound difference between looking and seeing. In his entertaining and inspiring classroom format, the difference becomes apparent.

Adult art appreciation is encouraged through a series of evening explorations from around the world as presented by local art historian, Michael Farrell.  This creative pilgrimage explores unique art history surrounding famous artists and cities.  Farrell’s captivating style and wit have distinguished him as a popular raconteur and, along with his knowledge, have made him a recognized art authority, entertaining and educating residents and guests season after season.

2008 Lecture Schedule

Lectures are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month February through April.  The 2008 Series is complete.  Please check back for the 2009 Lecture Schedule.
