2010 Calendar

The Village grounds are open dawn to dusk seven days a week
unless closed for a wedding. Last Open Sunday for 2009 has
passed. Mill Race Village will reopen on June 13, 2010
through October 17, 2010 Sundays, from 1:00pm – 4:00pm and
for Special Events.
During the spring/summer season, all Village buildings
are open each Sunday with Docents on hand to share the
history of each building.

The BobLo Steamers: Matriarchs of the Detroit River
Wednesday, March 10, 7:30pm Lori Feret will present the history
and future of these historic steamers. Her talk will include video
footage and slides. New School Church Mill Race Village

A Victorian Afternoon Tea and Gibson Girl Program
Saturday, March 27, 2:00pm - 4:00pm Tea at 2:00pm at the Cady Inn
The Gibson Girl Program at the Church - 3:30pm Enjoy mouth-watering
tea sandwiches, scrumptious scones, delectable desserts and freshly
brewed tea at the Cady Inn which is transformed into a cozy tea room of
the past. Juliana Cerra, as the Gibson Girl, will model accurate
reproductions of historic costume from bloomers to ball gowns, and
present an engaging overview of the styles and etiquette of the late
19th century. $25 for Tea and Program $20 for Northville
Historical Society Members $10 for Program Only Preferred seating
for tea guests at Program Limited seating, please reserve by March

Mill Race Village $2 per person or $8 per family Families with
children up to age 8 Bring your blanket and picnic lunch. Drinks and
dessert will be provided. Enjoy stories, songs, and refreshments on
the lawn next to the Church. In case of rain we will move indoors.

Children's Christmas Workshop
Registration Friday, November 5 6:00pm for Historical
Society members 6:30pm Non Society Members 7:00pm Groups and Scout Troops
Children in grades 1-6 are invited to participate in the
opportunity to make seven old fashioned, hand-made gifts for the
special people on their Christmas lists. The intent of the workshop
is to surprise family members with the gifts that the children have
worked on and made themselves. There will be a morning session from
10:00am to 12:00pm and an afternoon session from 1:00pm to 3:00pm,
accommodating 150 children total. Enrollment is $15 per child.
Payable by cash or check made out to the Northville Historical
Society. Registration is always the first Friday in November at 218
W. Dunlap in Northville.
