Christopher J. Johnson was elected as the Mayor of the City of
Northville in November 1987. The Mayor serves as a liaison to
the Historic District Commission, Downtown Development Authority,
Conference of Western Wayne and as the SEMCOG Delegate. By statute,
the Mayor also serves as the chairperson of the Downtown Development
Authority. During the period of 1976 to 1987, prior to his tenure as
Mayor, Chris Johnson served on the Northville Board of Education.
Aside from local government, Chris Johnson serves as a member of
the Michigan Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know
Commission, the Local Lock-up Advisory Board, and is a member of
Holy Family Parish.
Mayor Johnson was born in Berlin, Germany where his father was
stationed during his service in the armed forces. Chris moved to the
City of Northville in 1968 and graduated from Northville High School
in 1973. Mayor Johnson is an Attorney, earning his B.G.S. from the
University of Michigan in 1979 and his J.D. from Detroit College of
Law in 1981. Chris Johnson is married to Patricia and they have a
son, Karlek and a daughter, Tollie.

Jim Allen was elected to City Council in November
2005. Prior to that, he was a Planning Commission member for
13 years.
Jim was born in Detroit, moved to Northville
Township in 1974 and then, after college, to the City in 1992.
He received his Bachelors of Landscape Architecture from Michigan
State University in 1989. Jim is the president of Allen
Design, a land planning company. He enjoys woodworking and
snowboarding.

Doug Bingham was elected to a four-year term as a member of the
City Council in November 2007. He is the City’s liaison to the 35th
District court Advisory Board and the Northville Youth Assistance.
He also serves on the Selection Committee established to interview
and recommend candidates for the City’s boards and commissions.
Previously Doug had served on several Downtown Development Authority
subcommittees. Mr. Bingham is an investment and financial advisor
to individuals for Raymond James and Associates, has lived in
Northville for 16 years, and is married to Jacque Martin-Downs.

Elected to Northville City Council in November 2007, Nancy Darga
has been a resident of Northville since 1995. Nancy has served on
the Northville Parks and Recreation Commission for over 10 years,
served on the Design Committee of the Northville Strategic Plan, and
is a board member of the Northville Historical Society. She is a
founding member of the Friends of the Rouge, and also serves on the
Board of Directors for Motor City National Heritage Area. She is a
licensed Landscape Architect, was previously Chief of Design for
Wayne County Parks for 25 years before retiring in 2003, and is
President of Fortunate Land Planning and Design. She is married to
Michael Darga and has two children, daughter Anna and son Alex.

Michele Fecht was elected to Northville City Council
in November 2005. She is the chairperson of the City of Northville's
50th Anniversary Committee and currently chairs the Northville Youth
Assistance Commission. She has been a member of the board of
directors of the Northville Public Library, and was named the Claude
N. Ely Award recipient for community service in 2004.
Born in Detroit, Michele is a graduate of
Michigan State University. She was a reporter for The Northville
Record and a reporter and editor for The Detroit News prior to
working as a freelance/contract writer.
Michele has been a City of Northville resident since
1986. She and her husband, Steve, have two children, Clara and
David. Michele and her family have been members of Meadowbrook
Congregational Church in Novi since 1991.
