It's that time of year again!
Assessment Notices have been mailed to every property owner in
the City of Northville. All taxpayers wishing to review their
taxable value or assessment with the Board of Review will be seen by
APPOINTMENT ONLY. It is requested that appointments be
scheduled prior to Tuesday, March 6, 2007. Please contact the
City of Northville Tax Department at (248) 449-9901 for an
appointment or with any questions you may have regarding your 2007
taxable or assessed value. The Board of Review is meeting on
the following dates: Tues - March 6th, Thurs - March 8th, Fri
- March 9th, Tues - March 13th, Thurs - March 15, and Tues - March
27th.
DPW Recycling Center is open at the Yard located at 650 Doheny on
every first Saturday of the month from 11:00am to 3:00pm. The
Recycling Center accepts plastic jugs and bottles, tin cans, motor
oil, newspaper, magazines, cardboard, paperboard, auto batteries,
household batteries, and antifreeze. Additionally, compost
materials of grass clippings, branches and bushes are also accepted.
CPR training is available at Northville City Hall on Tuesday,
March 27th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The American Heart Association CPR
Training will be conducted by the Northville Fire Department and the
Life Support Training Institute. The fee is $40 per person.
It is requested that the registration and fee be mailed no later
than March 20th to the Northville Fire Department, 215 W. Main
Street, Northville, Michigan 48167.

FEBRUARY CITY NEWS
MESSAGES:
CPR training will be made available at Northville City Hall on
Tuesday, February 27th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The American Heart
Association CPR Training will be conducted by the Northville Fire
Department and the Life Support Training Institute. The fee is $40
for Northville residents; $45 for non-residents. For more

Final day to pay winter taxes without penalty and interest is
Wednesday, February 14, 2007. Payments mailed with a US postmark of
no later than February 14th will be accepted for payment without
penalty. Payments are accepted at City Hall offices until February
28th.
2007 dog licenses are available for all City dogs. The license is
effective from March 1st through February 28th. Proof of current
rabies vaccination must be provided. Fees are $11 (unless proof of
neuter/spay is provided which reduces the fee to $8.) The 10th
Annual Lucky Dog contest is underway! One lucky dog from among those
registered last year has been selected at random and, upon timely
renewal, will become the proud winner of a special lucky dog prize
and feature in Northville's Record and Journal newspapers. Dog

REMINDERS:
City Hall offices are closed on Monday February 19th in
commemoration of Presidents' Day. Offices will reopen on Tuesday,
February 20th at 8:00am. There is NO CHANGE in the trash collection
schedule for Presidents' Day week.

Northville Arts Commission Employment Opportunity
The Northville Arts Commission (NAC) is seeking an experienced
special events planner to serve as an Arts Programmer for its two
most important fundraisers. This position will plan, organize
and coordinate two events for the NAC. The first event is the
yearly juried fine art outdoor show, Art Market, held each September
during Victorian Festival. The second event would be to
create, plan, organize and coordinate a yearly fundraiser to be held
sometime in the early part of 2008. Each event will have
volunteer committee support.
The Arts Programmer is a non-union, supervisory position.

be based on a negotiated salary per event.

Arun Chopra of Northville Township.
I received 111 survey responses before the March 1st
midnight deadline. Each survey was numbered 1 - 111 as they
were received. Northville City Clerk, Dianne Massa, pulled the
winning number from a bag this morning, which revealed Arun Chopra
as the winner of $100 in gift certificates.
Thank you to everyone that took time to submit a
survey. The results are very important to the Marketing
Committee and will help guide the Marketing Plan. Survey
results are now available on the DDA website homepage.

Cancellations
Per our cancellation policy, Northville Parks and
Recreation classes scheduled before 5:00pm will be canceled on
Tuesday, February 6, 2007 due to the severe cold weather. A decision
will be made about the status of evening activities by 4:00pm.

All Parks and Recreation Activities that are scheduled
on Tuesday evening in school buildings will be canceled as all
district buildings are closed.

Wanted - Youth Basketball Coordinator
Youth Basketball Coordinator
Northville Parks and Recreation Department, a shared service
between the City and Northville Township, is accepting applications
for a Youth Basketball Coordinator. The position is a
non-union, supervisory position, averaging 25-30 hours per week on a
seasonal basis. The position is paid hourly with no benefits.
Job Summary: The employee in this position creates plans,
organizes and coordinates the Youth Basketball activities offered by
the Parks and Recreation Department.
Typical Duties:
- Recruit, select, train and evaluate all program volunteer
coaches.
- Order all program equipment, uniforms and supplies.
- Develop schedules for all games and practices.
- Develop the operating budget for the youth basketball program.
- Organize camps, clinics, tournaments and related events
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using Microsoft Office products, including Word,
Excel and Publisher
- Knowledge of the Northville community and resources.
- High School Diploma at minimum, with preference of a college
degree.
- Knowledge of basketball rules, terms and strategies.
- Experience in youth athletic league administration.
- Creative, independent worker, customer service oriented, able
to set priorities and work within budget.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Compensation: Starting pay $13.00 - $15.00 per hour DOQ.
Application Deadline: Open until filled. It is hoped
that a successful candidate will be selected by March 1, 2007.

Parks and Rec Master Plan Review
A draft version of the Northville Parks and Recreation Master
Plan 2007 - 2012 is available for review on the department's website
at
www.northvilleparksandrec.org. The plan will be reviewed by the
Parks and Recreation Commission at a public hearing on Wednesday,
February 14, 2007, 7:00 p.m. at the Northville Senior Community
Center, 303 W. Main Street. Public comment and feedback is
encouraged.

Due to the power outage at Hillside Middle School , all Parks and
Recreation activities normally scheduled for Monday evening, January
15, 2007 at the Parks and Recreation Center at Hillside are
