Each fall the City collects leaves from the City streets.
Utilizing basic “low technology” methods these leaves are routinely
turned providing a composting process, which reduces the volume of
the leaves by 90% and turning this once unwanted material into a
rich, organic matter called “Compost”. It can be utilized to
improve soils in landscape and flower beds, gardens, and flower
pots. The Department of Public Works uses compost for its
landscaping needs in City parks, cemeteries, and other public
properties.
Compost is offered free to residents & non-residents of
Northville and is available at the City Yards located at 650 Doheny.
Compost is available Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:00pm. You must
supply your own containers and load your own compost.
